Interesting fact—In high school we used to have to run for baseball, and I hated it more than anything. I swore I’d never run again. Now I run about 20 miles per week and enjoy it.
Why I chose anesthesia—I went through all of medical school and didn’t love (or even really like) anything. Multiple people told me that they thought my personality matched anesthesia residents so I did the elective and didn’t mind it. I did some quick research and realized anesthesia is relatively flexible and can offer really good work life balance. I decided to go for anesthesia last minute and am glad it worked out.
